While I was calling down to the ranch to plan our family vacation there this year I was talking to Vicki and decided to be spontaneous and asked her if she had a house available for us to stay this weekend and she actually did. So Tyler and I decided what the heck lets start packing and leave tomorrow for the ranch. So the day we were leaving my mom calls and asks what we were doing and I said we were leaving for the ranch and just for fun invited her as well. Well it usually takes her a week to pack to go anywhere but she wanted to go and got packed in an hour and we picked her up on our way down.
Tyler wanted to bring the four wheeler's so we had brought his parents Exursion down to pull them. The week was so fun and since it was in the middle of July and super hot we lived in the pool night and day. The kids never stopped swimming, it was also blackberry season so we would pick blackberries at night and make shakes. One day Vicki drove us down the the Virgin Trading Post and let the kids pick out some cool rocks and a little toy. Kate got a little sheriff set. They had a little petting farm the kids went to and then we got some ice cream since it was such a hot day.

| When I say lived at the pool I meant it we never left the pool, we ate lunch there everyday. |
 |
| One morning Dede was herding the cows from the lower ranch to the upper so Tyler took the kids down and they got to ride the horses and help. |
 |
| One of my Grandpa's favorite places to eat is in Springdale and its called Oscar's cafe. He took us for breakfast one morning and it was delicious. |
 |
| Tyler and the kids had a blast on the four wheelers, one night my grandpa even got on his and took Kate on a ride with Tyler. I tried keeping up with them and running up the hill beside them, |

| Don't mess with her, she's the meanest Sheriff in town. |

| We wore them out |

| One day we drove down to Heinz and Alecia, and we had to buy Kate a new swimsuit since I forgot to pack her. Tyler had driven down with the boys so I drove down with the kids and my mom and on the way down the AC wasn't working in the car I thought I was going to die of heat, it was over 100 degrees outside and in the car. So that's why Conner jumped in Huddy's pool with his clothes on. |

On Monday July 21 we were going to head back but decided to stay one more day because we were having so much fun so my mom headed home with my Aunt and we stayed and played more. That night Tyler always took the kids on the four wheeler while I walked to the main house, I love walking at nights but this night something just seemed off I just had a weird feeling. So before bed I said a very long prayer to bless us to be safe. The next morning we packed up and headed out. We got on the road about 3:00 pm and everything was going well we were going to drive till someone had to go to the bathroom. We passed Cedar City and Conner was hungry so I had unbuckled and crawled in back to grab him some food and then buckled back in. The stinker he was, was half way out of his car seat but somehow got back in.
The ride started getting bumpy and I told Tyler it might be a flat tire and he thought it could possibly be the road so he got in the slow lane but it didn't go away. So he was about to pull over when all of a sudden at mile marker 71 the front passenger tire blew and he tried to control the car but the little revine on the side pulled us down and turned the car the opposite direction. We thought we were good when all of a sudden we felt the car tip and it rolled over to us it felt like it was all in slow motion but I have no clue what it looked like to everyone else. As we were upside down I thought to myself we are all good and then the engine just crushed down the front of the car. My flip flops were off and Tylers window was crushed and shattered. I started to panic and tried everything I could to open the door. Tyler luckily was concerned about the kids and helped them get unbuckled. He was worried about the car blowing up which scared Kate so she was yelling get me out. Right then some people who had pulled over to see if we were ok yelled in and said we'll help you get out. So we handed the kids out first, Kate's flip flops were lost also so she was barefoot, I got out next and Tyler got out a back door somehow. Kate and I got some glass in our feet and she hurt her knee, but everyone was fine luckily.
The passerby's that stopped John and Karen Miller lived right off the Parowan exit just up ahead and offered to take me and the kids to their house while we figured things out so I told them I would go tell Tyler and come back. When I went to check on Tyler he was shaking so bad he couldn't even talk or fill out the paper work with the highway patrol. Something inside of me said to stay with him but send the kids off so they wouldn't be in the heat on the freeway. So I got John's number and address and they took the kids to their house. I felt completely peaceful about it. Tyler had called my grandpa and told him we had been in an accident and to come pick us up. So we waited for the tow truck driver and when he got there another car got distracted by the tow truck and went off the road and rolled 3 times and landed on its side. It was an old couple in their 80's so I ran over to check on them along with someone else while Tyler alerted the HP about it since he was looking down and didn't see it. They had to call paramedics and have life flight stand by for this couple it was scary seeing that. My grandpa showed up about an hour after and picked us up and took us to our kids. The kids were having so much fun at the Miller's house, they had a playground and they gave the kids stuffed animals and even gave me a nice watch and pair of earrings. I felt so so blessed to have these people stop for us and make it such a less scary experience for the kids. They were truly angels. They offered to let us stay overnight but we decided to go back to the ranch and figure things out. So Baba and Vicki drove us down and stopped in Cedar and bought us dinner at Pizza factory. That is when the whole day hit me and my adrenaline left. I was able to stay calm until then and the rest of the night I couldn't shake what had happened and I really just wanted to be home and never drive again. The thought of driving back home scared me. When we got back I took off my shoes and realized I had a huge chuck of glass imbedded in my toe I hadn't even known about till now so I got that out and lay in bed.
The next day we tried figuring out ways to get home but we had to send the trailer to get fixed so we could pull that back which I wasn't looking forward to. So we stayed one more day let the kids play in the pool. Alecia brought us up dinner and came swimming with us. The next morning my grandpa let us borrow his truck to pull the trailer back and we left super early. I remembering praying the whole way home but we made it home safely.
This experience is one I hope I never have to go through again but I feel so blessed for the people that were there to help and to have walked away without a scratch really. I remembering thinking that there still are really great people out. And I was very grateful for family.
I can defiantly say this was one of the best trips and scariest in all. |

As you can tell the kids seemed to be doing just fine.
